Library

The Center for History of Science is not a regular library. But we do have a reference library with the focus on history of science and history of scientific instruments. Our holdings are registred in the national catalogue Libris. The purpose of the library is primarily to support the staff and visiting researchers. We do not allow loans and interurban loans are almost never granted, but those interested in consulting our library can do so at the Center.

Older collections of books

Until 1978 the RSAS had its own library within the building, but when Stockholm University was created most of the Academy’s books were transferred to the University’s library. The RSAS’ collection of rare books printed prior to 1800 is deposited at the Stockholm University library.
