The early history of experimental phonetics

On Thursday, May 25, KVA’s Class for Humanities and the Center for the History of Science invited to a seminar on the early history of experimental phonetics, from the middle of the 19th century and about 100 years on. There was a special focus on the work of Armando de Lacerda and the symposium ended with the book release of The global periphery: Armando de Lacerda and the Coimbra Experimental Phonetics Laboratory (1936–1979), by historian of science Quintino Lopes, University Évora, Portugal.
